Available Positions

Counselors

Live in the cabins with the campers and are responsible for them when the campers are not at activities. Are assigned to activities according to ability, interest, and need. Are responsible for all campers at their activity. Must be willing to devote all their time and energy to the campers and must realize there will be a limited time for personal interests. Counselors will write a reports to parents concerning each member of the cabin.

Nurses

Are responsible for the dispensing of medication and caring for the sick and injured. There is a physician close by who helps in emergencies. Otherwise our closest hospital is in Glenwood Springs (30 miles away) where doctors are on call.

Cooks

Are responsible for providing three well-balanced meals each day, planning menus, and most food ordering. Supplies are delivered directly to the kitchen. All campers and staff eat together in the main lodge where we have a modern kitchen. Food is served family style.

Wranglers

Are responsible for the total care of the horses and lead the daily rides, all days, and extended trips. Teach campers about the importance of horse safety, horse care, and proper riding techniques. They also assist with other activities and may stay in cabins on counselors' time-off.

Lodge / Grounds Staff

Are responsible for properly setting the tables, washing the dishes, and keeping the lodge clean. Outside responsibilities include the pool, lawn, grounds, and trash removal. They may also assist with other activities and may stay in cabins on counselors' time-off.

Outcamp Coordinators

Are responsible for all out-of-camp trip food and equipment. Responsibilities include maintaining and distributing equipment, planning menus, and packing for out-camp trips. They may also assist with other activities and may stay in cabins on counselors' time-off.

Program Coordinators

Are responsible in providing a varied, exciting selection of daily activites in an organized manner, as well as typing the daily announcements. They assist with the training staff in the various activites and plan special activity days, as well as plan evening activites. They work closely with campers and staff to assure their enjoyment of all aspects of camp life.

Laundry

Are responsible for washing, sorting, and folding laundry (camper, staff, kitchen, sheets and blankets weekly).

Summer Secretary

Is responsible for assisting in many office duties. Some typing skills necessary, friendly telephone voice, and weekly mailings.
