, Denver, Colorado
Rafting Master and THE MAN

This summer marks Dave's 29th year with Anderson Camps. From humble beginnings as a lowly counselor (one of his campers was Christopher Porter, the current Director) Dave has stuck out the years and heads the rafting program. Dave also helps keep order amongst the boys on the Hill, and he keeps the rafts afloat. During the non-camping season, Dave teaches science to seventh-graders in suburban Denver, where he earns many accolades, including Teacher of the Year. This summer Dave will be leaving us for a few weeks to raft the Grand Canyon. He may be able to squeeze one of us into his dry bag, so start sucking up now to see if you’ll be the lucky winner!

Ryan Gillespie, Wheeling, Illinois
Rafting Director and Odd-Job Man

Another summer at camp finds Ryan driving the blue boats down the river again. He also takes on the job of keeping the sprinklers turning, which he seems to enjoy. If not rafting, Ryan can be seen hiking and backpacking, horseback riding, or trap shooting. During the off-season, Ryan teaches Math at nearby Roaring Fork High School, in Carbondale. Ryan also coaches both football and baseball for the school. Go Rams!

John & Sally Gragg, Poplar Bluff, "Missoura"
Fleet Excercise, Lawn Grooming, & Wardrobe

John has worked on and off for Anderson Camps for the last 30 years, and has worked under all three owners. He definitely rates Christopher in the top 3. John teaches science during the rest of the year. His wife, Sally, and sons, Seth and Adam, have all either worked for or attended camp in the past, too. After 30 years teaching in Missouri, John and Sally's phraze of choice for the summer is, "don't bother me, I'm retired."

Adam Hendry, Boulder, Colorado
Official Camp Paparazzi, Camp Gopher, and Web Masta

Adam has a great interest in the outdoors, and a healthy respect, as illustrated by a number of scars earned through myriad (mis)adventures. Despite specifically avoiding computers during college, he studied Film and English Literature at CU, Boulder, Adam managed to land a tech job in the one place on earth where he's not stuck in a cube, and is ecstatic. His dreams for life include a 300+ day ski season, using the phrase "the check is in the mail" during his Oscar and/or Presidential acceptance speech, a plethora of piñatas, and to obliterate certain computer parts with high powered ammunition. The winters find Adam, you guessed it, on the ski slopes of Steamboat Springs, CO, where he teaches Zen and the Art of Alpine Skiing. He acquired the coveted "Professional Ski-Bum License" last winter and plans to make the most of it.
