During each session, all the campers leave for an extended trip of their choice, and a two night horseback riding trip is one of the options. This trip is typically located near camp, and the campers will spend several hours riding up trails to a camping area up in the Flat Top Wilderness Area. The following day is typically spent going on a day ride and playing some horse games such as trot tag. After the second night they will ride back down toward camp. During this trip campers learn the necessary skills for extended camping in the outdoors, the importance of good conservation practices, and protecting our environment. Campers will not only gain an increased appreciation for the beauty of the high mountain country, but also an increased self-confidence.
