Caving Extended Trip

NOTICE: Due to White-Nose Syndrome (WNS), which is a disease affecting bats, all caves in Colorado have been closed. This closure was imposed to attempt to prevent the spread of WNS into Colorado bat populations. Anderson Camps will not be participating in any caving activities until this closure is lifted. For more information please visit Colorado Division of Wildlife.

During each session, all the campers leave for an extended trip of their choice, and a trip to explore one of Colorado's caves is typically one of the options. Along with exploring many different types of cave passages campers will have the opportunity to enjoy hiking and fishing in the area. Sometimes this trip is combined with the mountaineering trip and the campers will have the option of climbing a 14er along with exploring a cave. During this trip campers learn the necessary skills for extended camping in the outdoors, the importance of good conservation practices, and protecting our environment. Campers will not only gain an increased appreciation for the beauty of the high mountain country, but also an increased self-confidence.
