http://www.thru-hiker.com Information on various thru hikes, especially helpful for gear and trip planning.
http://www.pcthiker.com Official Pacific Crest Trail website with itineraries, homemade gear instructions, chat, and much more.
http://www.outdoornetwork.com Great for job hunting, up to date news about outdoor issues, and much more.
http://www.canoeman.com Comprehensive guide to paddling rivers that rivals many printed guides.
http://www.rapidcreek.net A great way for paddling clubs and people nationwide to discuss boating and river conditions in other areas including forums, lost and founds, USGS gauges, and boards divided by state.
http://www.topozone.com Source for all topographic maps within the U.S. and many others. Not great for using with a compass but it can give you a good idea of a given region area. Good for use with a GPS.

http://www.sierraclub.org The Sierra Club; America's oldest, largest, and most influential grassroots environmental organization.
http://www.nature.org The nature conservancy, protecting millions of acres both land and sea worldwide. See if you are interested in volunteering in someway.
http://www.backpacker.com An excellent resource for backpacking and gear anywhere in the U.S. find a trail and start hiking.
http://www.kayakonline.com A-Z guide for kayaks and kayakers.
