Evening Activities

Every evening after dinner there is a camp wide activity which all the campers and staff participate. A handful of our evening activities are described below.

Counselor Hunt

For the Counselor Hunt some of the counselors and staff dress up and hide around camp. Each hunt will have a theme such as super heroes, fairytale characters, or wildlife animals. The campers are split up into groups, with a staff leader, and go out searching for the hiding counselors and staff. Everyone hiding is worth a certain number of points, and some of the bad characters are worth negative points. At the end of the activity everyone comes back and tallies the points to decide the winning group.

Gold Rush

Gold Rush is one of the most exciting activities. Pieces of gold are hidden all around camp, some are small and some are really big. The campers are split up into groups, lead by a counselor, and rush out to collect as much gold as they can, and deposit it into the bank. They need to watch out for a group of bandits who will try and steal the gold, but they can seek help from the sheriffs patrolling on horseback. After time is up, everyone returns to the bank, and each teams pile of gold is weighed and a winning group is declared.

Casino Night

Casino Night is many of the campers favorite evening activity. Everyone comes to dinner dressed in western attire, and after eating, the lodge is turned into an old fashion western casino. The campers are each given some play money, and the counselors run some fun games where the campers have a chance to win some more. There is concession stand where the campers can buy snacks and drinks with their winnings. Thieves better watch out or the sheriffs will throw them in jail, and they will have to do something silly to get back out.

Counselor Dress-Up

Counselor Dress-Up is one of the funniest evenings at camp. Each counselor is assigned a different cabin for the evening, and the campers get to dress them up however they want. Everyone then meets in the Rec Hall and the campers show off their counselor and tell everyone about them. Everyone always has a good laugh.

The Dance

The Dance is held on the last night at camp. It is both exciting to look forward to, and sad that it finally comes because it marks the end of camp. It is a time to celebrate all the new friendships, and for campers to start saying their goodbyes. The Dance is held after the Bar-B-Q, and slide show, which all the parents are invited to attend.
