Surrounded by more than 5 million acres of National Forest
land, Anderson Western Colorado Camps, Ltd. is located at the
confluence of the Colorado River and Sweetwater Creek, 50 miles
northwest of Vail and 157 miles west of Denver. The elevation
is 6,300 feet and the climate is semi-arid. Summer days are warm
and sunny, the nights are cool and clear.
With our unique location on the Colorado River we are able
to provide daily rafting trips. The White River National Forest
provides a majestic setting for many fun filled days of Horseback
Riding, Hiking, and Climbing. Our location also allows us
access to many of the scenic wonders and adventures available
throughout Western Colorado and Utah.

Getting To Camp
From Denver:
Travel 1-70 west for approximately 140 miles to Dotsero, exit 133,
(7 miles west of Gypsum). Turn right at the end of the off-ramp.
Proceed on the frontage road, over the Colorado River until the next stop sign.
Turn right onto Colorado River Road and continue for 7 miles to the camp.
From Glenwood Springs:
Travel I-70 east for 18 miles through Glenwood Canyon to Dotsero,
exit 133. Turn left at the end of the off-ramp. Proceed up the
Colorado River Road 7 miles to camp.

Campers sleep in rustic, Western style cabins with bunk beds.
Counselors sleep in the cabins, and are always available.
The 8 boy's cabins are on the hill above camp, and the 7 girl's cabins
line the Sweetwater Creek in its valley. Support buildings, the Office,
Infirmary, Rec Hall, and Lodge, are on the middle level, between the two
groups of cabins.
